Bringing structural clarity
& a grounding presence to life’s transitions

When navigating complex health milestones, aging, or a final transition, families are frequently left to manage an overwhelming logistical and emotional landscape.

My role is to step in alongside you, offering grounding roots and a sheltering canopy. I blend academic insight, crisis management, and deeply personalized advocacy to ensure your voice, choices, and dignity are protected every step of the way.

Growing up in a small Michigan town as the son of an auto worker and a school bus driver, I developed a lifelong appreciation for human stories and the deep wisdom passed down through generations. My early fascination with history, nature, and animal behavior grew into a passion for understanding how the past shapes our present-day lives. Driven by a desire to serve, I joined the United States Air Force in my early 20s, advancing through the ranks as a personnel security manager. In this role, I guided personnel through the complex institutional paperwork required for classified access. After a spinal injury ended my military career, I received a medical retirement in 2015 as a Master Sergeant, transitionally shifting my focus toward healing, adjusting to civilian life, and completing my higher education.

My Foundational Pillars of Care

My Values

Just like trees in nature, every person is unique, moving through life’s changing seasons in their own distinct way. We warmly embrace true inclusivity and honor everyone’s differences, recognizing that every life story holds its own beautiful meaning. Our heart is open to all backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions, ensuring that you and your family feel deeply seen, valued, and surrounded by care as I help you and your loved one’s honor your own unique journey.

The International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) is committed to a set of responsible standards. The doula’s commitment is to the entire unit of care, which involves the dying person and their self-identified circle of care. The doula’s primary commitment is to the dying person, and to support and recognize the dying person’s autonomy. INELDA-practicing doulas treat all people with respect and recognize the dignity, humanity, personal autonomy, choices, identity, and orientation of every individual they serve. I will never exploit our relationship to promote my own personal, religious, political, sexual, or business interests.

When surveyed, 9 out of 10 LGBT+ people feared discrimination in care settings if providers knew their sexual orientation or gender identity. SAGE is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQIA2S+ older adults, and they created an innovative LGBT+ cultural competency program. SAGECare uses training to directly address the need for more inclusive service providers and more LGBT+-welcoming long-term care. I elected this training because it focuses on transforming, expanding, and elevating organizational awareness and education of LGBTQIA2S+ matters with a deep focus on history and interpersonal communication.
